SYSTEMATIC To Begin Recording Sophomore CD, Former Bassist Not A Member Of DOPESICK

August 31, 2002

SYSTEMATIC will begin recording their much-anticipated sophomore release on September 23rd in Los Angeles, according to the group's official web site. The album — the group's first to feature former SLAYER drummer Paul Bostaph — will be produced by Howard Benson, who had previously worked with P.O.D., MOTÖRHEAD, SEPULTURA and CRAZY TOWN, among others. An early 2003 release through Elektra Records is expected.

In related news, contrary to a report posted here on Friday, former SYSTEMATIC bassist Nick St. Denis has not joined San Francisco Bay Area act DOPESICK and is merely filling in for a couple of shows while the group finalize their line-up. St. Denis remains a full-time member of PRIMATE, another Bay Area band who feature in their ranks former SKINLAB guitarist Mike Roberts.

"Nick St. Denis is in PRIMATE full-time [as a second guitarist] and he helped out DOPESICK by playing a show with them at Blakes On Telegraph in Berkeley last Wednesday," Roberts told BLABBERMOUTH.NET. "He may play a couple more shows with them in the near future, once again just to help them out until they get their stuff worked out. We have all been friends for many years and help each other out when needed, For example, when I was in SKINLAB (circa Bound, Gagged and Blindfolded) we went through quite a few guitar players after Adam Albright left the band trying to find one that fit, and through those times we kept playing shows to keep the ball rolling and Nick filled in a few times just to help us out, not to mention a whole European tour he played in my place because I was all sickly... What a guy! Now Nick and myself have formed PRIMATE with John Riggs (drums),Mark Sudano (bass) and Damon Demers (vocals). Music will be available soon and contact info will be posted in all the right places!"
